In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We often find ourselves juggling multiple responsibilities and neglecting our own well-being. However, it's important to remember that true happiness and personal growth come from nurturing all aspects of ourselves. I have often found that since starting college life was a repeated cycle of three phases - routine, uprise, and downfall. 1. Routine: It starts as a routine, life is simply moving along with no prominent goal or ambition to work towards. This stage is fine, there is not much heartache, but there is also not much satisfaction. You are not living, time is just moving along. 2. Uprise: This stage is a high, life begins to feel colorful again and like it is worth living. This stage brings a state of contentment where every minor inconvenience doesn't feel as hard because at least one thing is extraordinary. However, I would rely on others for my uprise, and we cannot control other's actions. 3. Downfall: The uprise never lasts; "what goes up must come down" - Isaac Newton. The downfall is always the hardest stage. Life feels hopeless, like it will never get better. You scramble for ways to reach the uprise again, but the uprise has a mind of its own. You cannot achieve an uprise on your own when that uprise is reliant on anyone other than yourself, and over time you will return back to routine.
I have now gone through this cycle three times since I started college, and each time my downfall has resulted from losing someone or myself due to another's actions. However, through self-reflection, I realized routine is what I need to be focusing on. Routine was the only stage where I was relying on myself, yet it was the worst of them all. At least downfall meant my highs were so high for a moment that I could experience so much pain. However, if routine could become more satisfying, my ups and downs would not be so drastic. I could learn to not only rely on myself to simply keep going, but to also achieve true happiness in my daily life. In doing so my routine can become uprise, due to no one other than myself.
Through this realization, I was inspired to create this blog, as well as embody this blog's ideals in my everyday life. Finding happiness in ourselves is an ongoing journey. It requires self-awareness, intention, and commitment. Remember, it's not about achieving perfection in each area but rather finding harmony and prioritizing self-care. Start small and gradually incorporate these practices into your daily life. Be patient with yourself and celebrate the progress you make along the way.
